英文版本

Title: The Dignity of the Ancestral Diamond

In a remote town, there lived an elderly man named Uncle Chen, a respected “grandfather” figure among the townsfolk. Uncle Chen’s family had passed down a precious “diamond” through generations, a gem not only of immense value but also a symbol of the family’s glory and “dignity.” However, in recent years, as outsiders began coveting the diamond, Uncle Chen’s life was no longer peaceful.

HSK Level 6 Book Part 6

One day, a man claiming to be an antique dealer approached Uncle Chen, proposing to “lease” the diamond for an exhibition, promising substantial remuneration. But Uncle Chen knew well that this was merely a ruse to claim the diamond for himself, and he firmly “obstructed” the offer. Soon after, a group of “criminals” attempted to forcibly seize the diamond. Uncle Chen engaged them in a battle of wits and courage, ultimately succeeding in “thwarting” their evil plans.

Amidst this turmoil, Uncle Chen gained a deeper understanding of the importance of family heritage. He began to “delve into” the family’s history, seeking strength from the stories of his “ancestors.” He discovered that the diamond was not just a symbol of wealth but also a testament to the family’s unyielding spirit. To preserve this “dignity,” Uncle Chen decided to donate the diamond to the national museum, allowing more people to learn about and respect this piece of history.

At the donation ceremony, Uncle Chen said emotionally, “This diamond is a part of our ‘motherland’s’ culture. It should belong to everyone, not be possessed by an individual. I follow the will of my ancestors and entrust it to the nation, hoping it will continue to shine with the light of dignity.”
